HIGHLIGHTS - UAE Vs Korea DPR - Asian Cup 2011 Second Half

www.facebook.com Iran Tops Arch-Rival Iraq in Asian Cup Football Iran’s football team rallied to edge arch-rival and defending champion Iraq, 2-1, in their opening group phase contest at the Asian Cup in Doha, Qatar. Midfielder Iman Mobali scored the winning goal on a free kick in the 84th minute for the three-time former champions. Iran and neighboring Iraq fought an acrimonious eight-year war in the 1980s. But there were no reports of any disturbances or animosity taking place on or off the field during the Asian Cup Group D match Tuesday at Al Rayyan Stadium. Iraqi star and team captain, Younis Mahmoud, scored the opening goal in the 13th minute. Iranian striker Gholam Rezai tied the score at 1-1 when he found the net only three minutes before half-time. On Monday, Iran and Iraq’s head coaches had spoke in positive terms about their match. Iran head coach Afshin Ghotbi remarked, “It’s not a war, it’s just football.” Iraq’s head coach, Wolfgang Sidka of Germany, spoke about how football brings people together, and said he hoped the contest with Iran would help “mend fences” between the two Middle East nations. In other Group D action Tuesday, North Korea and United Arab Emirates played to a scoreless draw. Iraq was the surprise winner of the last Asian Cup tournament in 2007, with skipper Younis Mahmoud heading in the title-clinching goal.

International Friendly Preview: South Korea – Iran Team Meli look to back-up their recent win over China against one of Asia’s form teams. By Chris Paraskevas Sep 7, 2010 6:06:00 AM It was a wonderful World Cup for South Korea as they emerged impressively from the group stages and were only knocked out in extra time by an in-form Uruguay in the Round of 16. They’ve got an energetic and exciting squad led by Manchester United man Park Ji-Sung on the pitch and coached by Cho Kwang-Rae, who has said recently that he’ll be looking to emulate the sort of passing game that inspired Spain to World Cup victory in South Africa. Certainly Korea boast technical quality and if they can utilize their usual speed and movement on and off the ball under their new boss, then lifting the Asian Cup in January is a distinct possibility. In the meantime Cho will be experimenting with personnel and tactics in the lead-up to the tournament, with this next friendly against Iran the perfect stage in which do do it, given they too will be fancying themselves to reign in Qatar. The Koreans have a notable blend of youth and experience, with speedy defender Kim Joo-Young and teenage Ajax striker Suk Hyun-Jun both set to make their international debuts. Watch out also for 20 year-old midfielder Yoon Bit-Garam, who has been setting the K-League alight with Gyeongnam and scored on his international debut recently. کره جنوبی تیم قدرتمندی است. در این گفته هیچ شکی نیست.اما فوتبال ایران هم دست کمی از این

Iran vs South Korea [Trailer 22/01/2011] Asian Cup

January 11, 2012

AFC – DOHA, The 22nd of January 2011 will see two giants of the Asian football scene clash at the Qatar Sports Club for the fifth time in the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup. Iran and Korea Republic have played each other four times in each edition since 1996, with all their meetings coming in the last eight. Their first quarter-final match-up was in 1996 when Team Melli ran riot and demolished their rivals 6-2. Four years later in Lebanon, both sides again reached the last eight and were drawn to play against each other. Iran took the lead through a 71st minute Karim Bagheri strike and just as it was looking enough for a second Asian Cup victory over the Taeguk Warriors, Kim Sang-sik equalised at the death before Lee Dong-gook grabbed the extra-time winner. Again in 2004, fate brought the two rivals together in the quarter-finals. This time luck was again with Iran and they kept Korea out of the semifinals with a thrilling 4-3 victory. Their quarter-final tussle in 2007 was perhaps one of the most thrilling matches in the history of the tournament. The match remained goalless after 120 minutes of high-pressure action and went to penalties. The Taeguk Warriors’ goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae proved to be the difference and inspired the team to a heart-stopping 4-2 win. Good Luck Iran!
